Our Guest speaker for last week was Nate Butler, a professional cartoonist who worked for Marvel, DC an others on characters like Heathcliff, Popeye, The Muppetts and Archie. He is now the President of Comix35.org and built up the Christian Comics International website which is the first of its kind.
He was also an advisor for the "Manga Messiah".
So we got inside in how a comic is produced and going through all the process steps and listen to his experience.
We also worked on an assignment to make a tract in comic form, starting from narrowing down the audience over developing a story to drawing (pencilling) and Inking. I only got to finish the story, but got feedback on it and have now something to work on to finish it.
All in all it was very inspiring and motivating...
